27 May 2025: Sustainable Wood Products and Certifications (Seminar will be held in Swedish)


Welcome to a webinar on sustainable wood production.In this session, we will discuss challenges and opportunities in the field, focusing on upcoming legislation and market developments. FSC and TMF will provide insights into future regulations, the wood industry's initiatives, and what these changes mean for certification and the market. Additionally, we will hear examples from companies in the construction and furniture production sectors.

Robin Ljungar from TMF will start by discussing the latest developments from the EU, including the EUDR (EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products) and the ESPR (Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation). He will provide an overview of what we can expect from the legislators and how these regulations will impact the wood industry. We hope today's discussions will contribute to a more sustainable future for wood resources.

Robin Ljungar from TMF will discuss the latest updates from the EU, including the EUDR and ESPR. He will provide an overview of what we can expect from the legislators and how these regulations will impact the wood industry.

Introduction to Sustainable Wood Resources – Jan Ihre (FSC)
Jan Ihre from FSC will provide an overview of what sustainable wood resources entail and why they are important for the future. He will discuss FSC’s role in promoting sustainable forestry and certification.

Status and Tools for EUDR – Jan Ihre (FSC)
Jan Ihre will present FSC’s work related to the EUDR, including the tools and resources FSC has developed to help companies adapt to the EUDR requirements. FSC has been working on EUDR-related issues for almost three years and sees itself as an important resource for companies aiming to meet these requirements.

Certifications for a Furniture Manufacturer – Johanna Ljunggren, Kinnarps
Johanna will describe the work involved in using certifications in the market, as well as upcoming legislation related to eco-design.

EU Deforestation Regulation
Challenges and differences as the EUDR (Deforestation Regulation) enters into force and its impact on companies and the market. We will hear examples from companies in the industry sharing their experiences.

Panel Discussion
The webinar will conclude with a panel discussion on today’s theme, with the opportunity to ask questions to the panel. The discussion will be moderated by Möbelfakta.

December 6: Circular furniture
On December 6, together with CCBuild, we arranged a webinar where we focused on circular solutions and sustainable development in the furniture industry. During the meeting, we presented insights from Möbelfakta and CCBuild, which began with an introduction about value analysis and climate benefits linked to circular furniture solutions. We then delved into the circular requirements placed on new furniture and Möbelfakta's future work towards more circular furniture flows. Furthermore, practical examples were given of how to work effectively with inventory and recycling. Finally, a review of the industry's challenges and solutions for circular purchasing and office solutions.

Boel Allende, architect, UD/Regeringskansliet, explains how the Ministry of Foreign Affairs works circularly with furniture and interior design. What are the requirements for purchasing new goods, and how does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs work with recycling.

Reuse in procurement and circular solutions for offices
Patrik Clavenstam, Input Interior, describes how the industry is developing and what challenges there are for circular purchases and more sustainable office solutions.

First up was an event focusing on furniture and wood certification.Together with FSC, we talked about how a certification works for wood raw materials and furniture and how these can be used to set requirements for sustainable materials.
